PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector with a shutter in which a shutter can be installed without giving influences such as enlarging a connector housing, in the techniques of using a shutter to block emitted light from an adaptor side optical connector in the other end of the connector hole of the connector housing such as an optical connector adaptor. SOLUTION: A shutter unit 15 is assembled in the center part of the connector housing 14 to obtain the optical connector 10 with a shutter in which the emitted light from the adaptor side optical connector 16B in the connector hole can be blocked by the shutter piece 53A of the shutter unit 15. By making the shutter unit 15 from a conductive member, electromagnetic wave shielding performance can be maintained without enlarging the optical connector. Since the emitted light from the adaptor side optical connector can be blocked by using the optical connector with a shutter, the work to connect another optical connector to the adaptor side optical connector can be efficiently carried out.
