The steam turbine includes a rotor supporting number of turbine buckets. The stator has grooves (18) for receiving the complementary-shaped bucket hooks (14) formed at the ends of the turbine buckets. A braided rope seal (10) is interposed in each interface between the bucket hooks and the grooves of the rotor.
