An electrode for electric discharge machining, an electric discharge machine and an electric discharge machining method in which concentration of discharge is prevented and discharge machining free from spiral machining flaw can be applied to a rolling roll for dull finish. A roll is machine spirally by moving the roll and an electrode relatively in the circumferential direction and the axial direction while supplying machining liquid from a cavity using an electric discharge machine having the cavity for supplying the machining liquid from the forward end wherein the end face at the forward end of the electrode has a flat shape having an area not larger than 70 mm<2> except a hole part corresponding to the cavity on a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the electrode onto which the end face is projected, and a flattening represented by the ratio (L/T) between the maximum length (L) on the projection plane and the length (T) in the direction perpendicular thereto being 1.5 or above, and the electrode is arranged such that the maximum length (L) on the projection plane becomes substantially in parallel with the axial direction of the roll.
