<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording material with an ink receiving layer as a top layer which contains an inorganic ultrafine particle intended for imparting a gloss; can develop a conspicuous gloss even when a quantity of coating of a coating fluid on the top layer is small; is free from the cracking of the coated layer; and has a profound feeling of surface gloss, a high ink absorbency and a high image density, in the ink jet recording material having a plurality of the ink receiving layers, and a method for manufacturing this ink jet recording material. <P>SOLUTION: The gloss developing layer contains a sheet-like pigment, which has preferably an average particle diameter of 2 to 20 μm and also more preferably contains at least more than one kind selected between Al and Si. A plurality of the coated layers in a row including at least the gloss developing layer are preferably formed by applying a multi-layer coating fluid film formed of the laminated layers of the coating fluid of the coated layers to the surface of a support and drying the multi-layer coating fluid film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
