<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image defects such as dirt of letters using a thin-layered organic photoreceptor, and to provide an electrophotographic image having good sharpness and gradation. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method, an organic photoreceptor has a charge generating layer comprising a charge generating material of an N type pigment on a conductive support and a laminated structure of at least one or more layers having a total thickness of 5-15 μm on the charge generating layer, wherein the uppermost layer comprises fluororesin particles, a toner used in reversal development comprises colored particles consisting essentially of a resin and a colorant, when 50% number particle diameter of the toner is represented by Dp50, the number of toner particles having ≤0.7×Dp50 is ≤10% by number, and reversal development is carried out under a condition of the expression (1): 50≤¾E¾≤100E, wherein E is electric field strength (V/μm) applied to the organic photoreceptor in development. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
