<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photothermal actuator actively and multi-jointly bent in an extremely simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: First, second and third optical fiber bundles 13, 53 and 63 are inserted into a tube 11. Prescribed surfaces 13s, 52s and 63s of half-piece side portions of the tip parts 13c, 53c and 63c of the respective fiber bundles 13, 53 and 63 are covered with heat acceptors 14, 54 and 64. Longitudinal positions on the tube faced by the heat receptors 14, 54 and 64 are differed, respectively. As shown in Figure (b)-(d), at least one of the heat receptors 14, 54 and 64 is heated. The heated heat receptor and a part of the optical fiber bundle corresponding thereto are extended to be bent, and at least one part of the optical fiber bundles 13, 53 and 63 is also bent.
