<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a method, and a server for advertisement downloading, and a client terminal that can provide convenience on an advertisement transmission side and convenience as a user's information gathering means at the same time as to banner advertisement of the Internet. <P>SOLUTION: The advertisement downloading server 1 transmits advertisement area display information for displaying banner advertisement in an advertisement area to the client terminal 4 and also transmits category choice picture information for selecting a category of advertisement. The client terminal 4 displays the banner advertisement in the advertisement area according to the received advertisement area display information and also displays a category choice picture. When a category is selected in the category choice picture, the client terminal 4 transmits a selected category ID to the advertisement downloading server 1. The advertisement downloading server 1 extracts banner advertisement belonging to the category selected on the client terminal and transmits it to the client terminal 4 to update banner advertisement in the advertisement area 12 of the client terminal 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
