<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a memory card from popping out when extracting the memory card. <P>SOLUTION: This card connector 1 has a card holding member 10 to hold a card, wherein the card side terminal 71 of the card is brought into contact with a body side contact 20 if a memory card 70 is inserted in it, a slider 30 slidable in the inserting and extracting direction of the card provided in this card connector to guide the movement of the card by sliding in response to card inserting and extracting operations, a heart cam mechanism formed by having a heart cam groove 41 to guide a cam member 60 provided in the card holding member 10 and the movement thereof, in order to move the slider 30 to a contact state position where the card side terminal 71 makes contact with the contact 20 by an operation to push the card in and a position possible for insertion and extraction where the card can be inserted in and extracted from the card holding member 10, and an energizing spring 65 to energize the slider 30 in its moving direction from the the contact state position to the position possible for insertion and extraction.
