PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily treatable gel-shaped composition of an organic electrolyte, having no fluidity, stable even after being heated by preventing a solvent from bleeding, having remoldability to facilitate the packing in a container, and hardly having inflammability; and to provide a method for producing the composition. SOLUTION: The gel-shaped composition contains a crosslinked polymer having a polar organic group, insoluble in an organic solvent and swellable to three times or more of a deadweight by a polar aprotic solvent, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and has≤400 consistency. The easily treatable gel-shaped composition having no fluidity, stable even after being heated by preventing the solvent from bleeding, having remoldability to facilitate the packing in a container, and hardly having inflammability is obtained by the method for producing the gel-shaped composition, and is useful as an electrolyte composition for a lithium ion battery and an electric double layer capacitor.
