PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing, enabling a braking force imparted to a spool to be recognized clearly, and enabling a drag operation to be precisely and easily carried out. SOLUTION: This reel for fishing has a braking device 60 for regulating the braking force imparted to the spool 2 freely turnably supported between side plates 10A and 10B of a reel body 1a so as to be strengthened or weakened by the turning operation in the front and rear direction of a lever-shaped regulator 61 installed in one side of the reel body 1a. A level-displaying part 13 for displaying the level of the braking force is installed in a cover body 11 arranged at the vicinity of the lever-shaped regulator 61, and an index part 14 for indexing the level-displaying part 13 is installed in the lever-shaped regulator 61.
