PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared detector which detects infrared rays emitted from an object to be detected, with high precision removing noises. SOLUTION: This infrared detector 101 is provided with an infrared ray detecting heat-sensitive element TP to which specified voltage is applied, a resistor Rs having a resistance value approximately the same as the internal resistance of the heat-sensitive element TP, to which the specified voltage is applied, a substraction means 103 which subtracts the output of the resistor Rs from the output of the heat-sensitive element TP, a temperature compensation means 102 which comprises a temperature compensating heat-sensitive element TH for performing temperature compensation of the heat-sensitive element TP, and an adding means 105 which adds the output of the substraction means 103 and the output of the compensation means 102. By this formation, noises being superposed on the infrared ray detecting heat-sensitive element or its wiring pattern can be removed, and infrared rays emitted from the object to be detected can be detected with high precision.
