PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent for promoting recovery of a skin barrier function, containing a compound for inhibiting the activity or the production of intracellular cAMP. SOLUTION: This agent for promoting the recovery of the skin barrier function contains the compound for inhibiting the activity or the production of the intracellular cyclic AMP (adenosine monophosphate, cAMP). The method for screening the agent for promoting the recovery of the skin barrier function comprises reacting a compound as a candidate of the agent for promoting the recovery of the skin barrier function with a mammal cell, measuring the concentration of the intracellular cAMP after the reaction, and selecting the compound, by which the concentration of the intracellular cAMP is reduced, as the compound for promoting the recovery of the skin barrier function.
