PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel air conditioner for a vehicle capable of supplying comfortable air conditioning feeling to the whole cabin, for instance, supplying cool air to occupants seated both in the front and the rear seats during cooling operation. SOLUTION: The intake port 6 of the front seat side is provided below an instrument panel 3, and the intake port 8 of the rear seat side is provided in the pedestal part 8a of the rear seat. Therefore, the air from a blow-out opening flows towards the front and the rear intake ports 6, 8 in the inner air circulating mode, and an air flow enwrapping the whole of the front seat occupants and that of the rear occupants are generated. Thus, the interference between the air conditioning flow for the front seat and that for the rear seat can be suppressed, and the front and the rear seat sides can be easily controlled independently.
