PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element improved in heat radiating effect to provide excellent heat radiating effect, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element is formed of a substrate 21, one or more first electrodes 22 formed on the substrate 21, and one or more organic layers 23 and second electrodes 24 formed on the first electrode 22 by a trans-conductance method. A plurality of recessed grooves 225 are provided in the first electrode 22, and a conductive heat radiating layer having excellent heat radiation and conductivity is provided in the recessed groove 225. The conductive heat radiating layer 25 is securely brought in contact with the first electrodes 22 provided in both sides thereof to transmit a heat source when the organic layer emits the light to radiate outside through the heat radiating layer 25 to drop the heat generated on the first electrode 22 and the second electrode 24.
