<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily display a thumbnail picture (a reduced picture) on an operation panel. <P>SOLUTION: A processing time for creating the thumbnail picture is eliminated by holding the thumbnail picture on a memory in synchronism with an original picture.
