<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head lamp of which an operating sound at switching the postures of a movable shade is reduced, and capable of aiming at reduction of its assembly hour and manufacturing cost, as well as space saving of a solenoid. <P>SOLUTION: In switching a posture of the movable shade 4 from a low-beam position to a high-beam position, elastic force of a coil spring is drastically increased so as to act on the solenoid 6 for a drastic attenuation of extrusion force and suction force at dead end of movement of the movable shade 4 toward the high beam, due to spring characteristics of the truncated cone-shaped coil spring.
