PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellulose ester fiber having small reduction in wet strength in comparison with dry strength. SOLUTION: The cellulose ester fiber comprises a cellulose ester composition composed of at least a cellulose ester having 2.5-3.0 ester substitution degree and a polyhydric alcohol ester plasticizer and has the ratio of wet strength to dry strength of 80-100%.
