PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulverized coal blowing burner for metallurgical furnace with which the stickiness of foreign matter at the tip end part of the burner can effectively be restrained. SOLUTION: The portion at the tip end side of the pulverized coal blowing tube constituted of the burner body, has the structure composed of a shrinking diameter tube part 20 whose inner diameter gradually shrinks toward the tip end side and an expanding diameter tube part 21 whose inner diameter gradually expands toward the tube end side at the tube end part connected to this shrinking diameter tube part 20. The stream of carrier gas of the pulverized coal flows along the inner space of the part 20 and the part 21 connected with the part 20, and to the above gas stream, since the pulverized coal as the solid material flows such that it concentrates on the tube axial side even in the case of reaching the part 21 by contraction to the part 20 and also, sufficient distance exists between the flow of the pulverized coal and the tube at the part 21 as the tube end part, the sticking of volatile matter and fused ash to the tube end part is effectively restrained.
