PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely stop a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on a one-way lane to prevent an accident. SOLUTION: This device stopping the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction is constructed of a detecting means arranged on the exit side of the one-way lane for detecting the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on the one-way lane, a stopping means arranged on the one-way street in a position of a predetermined distance from the exit side for stopping travel of the vehicle, and a stop controlling means actuating the stopping means for stopping the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction when travel of the vehicle in the opposite direction is detected by the detecting means.
