A backlit display is disclosed. The backlit display comprises at least one light source, a backlit component, and a light-passing substrate. The light-passing substrate includes at least one fluorescing material. The light-passing substrate is intermediately located between the light source and the backlit component such that the backlit component passes light through at least one selected portion of said substrate. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
