The cross based bag laying machine has the bags made from tube sections (1) whereby the bags (1) move along a double belt conveyor (3-5) path (x) through different working stations (10,11). The base grooving station and the gluing station are successive on the conveying path. The transporter has drive wheel pairs arranged before the base forming station (10) in the feed direction for the tube lengths.
