PURPOSE: A brake device for an air balancing hoist is provided to increase braking power and to improve safety by suddenly braking a reel drum with a pawl engaged with a ratchet wheel. CONSTITUTION: In an air balancing hoist, a ratchet wheel is fixed to the inner circumference of an end cap(13) mounted to one end of a housing(2). Rotary shafts(16,17) are coupled to a sliding groove(15) formed at a reel drum(12), and are rotated with the reel drum. A rotator(18) is rotatably mounted to the end cap, and is fixed to the end of the rotary shaft. A brake pawl is rotatably fixed to the rotator, engaged with the ratchet wheel, and brakes the reel drum. |
