The labeling machine feeds the bottle caps (2) by means of a feed device (3) along the conveying path (R). A labeling device brings the labels onto the caps. The caps have side guides in the form of belts (6) so that their position perpendicular to the conveying direction is fixed and their position relative to the conveyor belt (3a) can be adjusted.
