PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL INCLUDING CaF2 PROTECTIVE FILM AND MgO PROTECTIVE FILM, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reliably protect a phosphor without causing degradation of luminance efficiency, by forming a CaF2 protective film on the phosphor and an MgO protective film on the CaF2 protective film. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a lower electrode and an upper electrode spaced apart from each other by a barrier rib(14) and formed on a front substrate and a rear substrate(11) opposed with each other; a dielectric layer(13) for covering the lower electrode and supporting the barrier rib; a phosphor deposited on the dielectric layer defined by the barrier rib; a CaF2 protective film(16) formed on the phosphor so as to protect the phosphor; and an MgO protective film(17) formed on the CaF2 protective film so as to supplement sputtering properties of the CaF2 protective film.
