摘要 PURPOSE: An optical head device and a fabrication method thereof are provided to enable a high adhesion between a semiconductor laser element and a retaining/supporting member, and to increase a close adherence between the semiconductor laser element and a sidewall of a receiving portion, thereby effectively transmitting radiation of the laser element to the supporting member. CONSTITUTION: A retaining/supporting member(3) made of a metal material is molded on a housing, and is attached to assemble a semiconductor laser element(2) having a radiating surface on one side thereof. A receiving portion for disposing the semiconductor laser element(2) is installed in the retaining/supporting member(3). An opening portion(3c) is installed on one wall side surrounding the receiving portion, while an adhesive is applied such that a radiating surface of the semiconductor laser element(2) can be contacted with an opposed wall side of the opening portion(3c). A side of the semiconductor laser element(2) is pressurized by a pressurizing bar(7) via the opening portion(3c), and is fixed by the adhesive.
