POLARIZING PLATE, OPTICAL FILM, AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate having a high degree of polarization, high transmittance and durability at and under a high temperature and moisture.

SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is formed by providing at least one surface of a polarizer with a protective film through an adhesive layer, in which the polarizer is obtained by subjecting an unstretched polyvinyl alcohol film to uniaxial stretching treatment at a stretching magnification of ≤4 times by dry stretching, thence subjecting the film to dyeing treatment then to uniaxial stretching treatment at a stretching magnification of ≤1.5 times in a boron compound and the protective film contains (A) a thermoplastic resin having a substituted and/or unsubstituted imide group at a side chain and (B) a thermoplastic resin having a substituted and/or unsubstituted phenyl group and nitrile group at a side chain.
