<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the ease-of-use of a viewing device of a head-mounted display. <P>SOLUTION: A head mount portion 11 is provided with a half mirror 28 which shows pictures displayed on a picture display panel 26 to be provided to viewers, an infrared light-emitting diode 30, an image sensor 32 which receives infrared rays emitted from the infrared light-emitting diode 30 and reflected from eyes of the viewer through the half mirror 28, and a line-of-sight detecting means composed of a line-of-sight detecting portion 33 which detects a line of sight based on a photoreceiving state of the image sensor 32. Indicator information is shown on the picture display panel, the indicator information watched by the viewer is detected by the line-of-sight detecting means to be provided to a controller 27, and the controller is arranged to control the device based on the detected indicator information.
