PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle requiring no spiral flat cable and including a small and highly reliable transmission ratio variable mechanism. SOLUTION: The steering device 1 for the vehicle is provided with the transmission ratio variable mechanism 10 varying a transmission ratio of rotational movements between a first steering shaft 110 and a second steering shaft 120. The transmission ratio variable mechanism 10 has a wave motion gear reducer 130 for changing the transmission ratio between the first steering shaft 110 and the second steering shaft 120 in accordance with the number of rotation of a motor shaft 152. The motor shaft 152 and the second steering shaft 120 form a dual structure being arranged almost on the same axis. An output shaft 151 is connected with the motor shaft 152 with a driving motor 150 fixedly installed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
