PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost by simplifying the structure of a device, and to form a compact device. SOLUTION: In a motor press, a connecting rod 12 mounted on a crankshaft 36 which is rotatably driven by a driving part such as a motor 46 is linked with a press ram 10 so that a die installed in connection with the press ram 10 is moved with the exerted pressure by the press ram, thereby performing press working. The connecting rod 12 and the press ram 10 are linked together through an intermediary link 30. The intermediary link 30 and the connecting rod 12 are arranged, in press working, at a position bent to one side from a position where their axial directions are aligned straight with each other and, in retraction, at a position bent to the other side. Thus, retreating/transferring mechanisms 50, 52 are provided in which the press ram 10 is transferred to a retreating position above the press working position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
