PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand wireless LAN areas without installing a plurality of LAN base stations or wireless LAN repeaters.

SOLUTION: A wireless LAN terminal 102 has a wireless LAN terminal function for communicating with a wireless LAN base station 101, and also has a wireless LAN base station function for communicating with a wireless LAN terminal 103. The LAN terminal 102 encapsulates a wireless LAN signal originally transmitted from the LAN terminal 103, and transmits the encapsulated signal to the LAN base station 101. The LAN base station 101 encapsulates a wireless LAN signal destined to the LAN terminal 103 and transmits the encapsulated signal to the LAN terminal 102.
