PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of manufacturing a flame-retardant resin composition excellent in flame retardancy and physical property balances with good productivity. SOLUTION: The method manufactures the composition containing (A) one or more selected from a thermoplastic resin and a rubber and (B) a flame retardant using a kneading extruder. The kneading extruder comprises a biaxial kneading section which is equipped with a screw wherein L/D (length/diameter) of a biaxial part is≥12, consists of the 1st kneading part close to the raw material supplying section and the following 2nd kneading part, and has a dammed structure at an end part of the biaxial part, and a monoaxial extruding section. Further, the screw diameter D (mm) and the length of the raw material supplying section L<SB>f</SB>(mm) are in a relationship of (L<SB>f</SB>/D)/D=0.12-0.33 mm<SP>-1</SP>, and L<SB>1</SB>of the 1st kneading part/D (length/screw diameter) is 7-13. Using this kneading extruder the thermoplastic resin and the flame retardant are melt kneaded to manufacture the flame-retardant resin composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
