PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp wherein a proper amount of halogen elements can be accurately filled. SOLUTION: A pair of electrodes 2a, 2b are disposed in an airtightly sealed quartz bulb 101 to form this high-pressure discharge lamp, and as to the electrodes 2a, 2b, halogen elements are struck in the portions having prescribed depths from the surfaces of the respective tip parts 21a, 21b of the electrodes.
