PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a data inputting device which minimizes any influence on host side performance, and notifies the host side of the abandonment of event data when the abandonment of event data is generated. SOLUTION: In this data inputting device for inputting event data in timing when an external signal is changed, an event abandonment flag indicating whether the overflow of a storage means has been generated, and the event data has been abandoned is added to the event data. The host side reads the event data from the storage means, and recognizes whether the overflow has been generated from the event abandonment flag added to the read event data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
