PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy for a user to select a desired piece of information from among a plurality of pieces of information for which a search is carried out by use of a keyword designated by the user. SOLUTION: A search device acquires information in advance from a number of websites or the like and stores it in a collected information repository 14. Determination is made as to whether or not the keyword input by the user from an information terminal appears within each piece of information for search; if it appears, a plurality of hit positions within the piece of information for search where the keyword appears are detected. Pieces of hit position indicating information 416, 417, 418, etc. for letting the user indicate one of the plurality of hit positions are displayed on the user's information terminal. When one of the plurality of hit positions is indicated by the user using the pieces of hit position indicating information displayed, of the information for search, at least the keyword position at the indicated hit position and subsequent portions are displayed on the user's information terminal.
