PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple manufacturing method for a throw-away end mill capable of easily setting up positioning of the end mill and a working side tool and capable of improving holder strength by restraining development of a crack. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for the throw-away end mill furnished with an insert pocket to hold a throw-away insert on a head end part of a tool main body and furnished with a circular arc recessed groove in cross-section on a boundary part of a side wall surface and a seating surface in the insert pocket. The recessed groove is worked by the ball end mill vertically arranged against a boundary axis of the side wall surface and the seating surface and chamfering work is carried out along a crossing edge part of a head end surface of the end mill and the recessed groove by a chamfering tool in parallel with the boundary axis from the head end surface side of the end mill.
