PURPOSE: A portable data storage device is provided to easily store data of various storage device by a simple connection. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises an I/O cable, a storage, and a PCB(Printed Circuit Board). The type of the storage is a memory or a small sized hard disc. In a case of a memory, the stored data is not erased though supplying power is stopped. In a case of a small sized hard disc, there exists a power switch in the storage. When the storage is not used, the power switch is off, but when the storage is used, the power switch is on. The PCB for controlling the storage manages storing data, is connected to external devices, and controls a connection to a computer.
