PURPOSE: A method and a system for settling the EC(Electric Commerce) on the digital broadcasting are provided to easily, conveniently, and safely settle the price on the EC by the digital broadcasting. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting terminal(100) includes an electronic wallet(101) for storing the customer information and the settlement information of a user, and encrypting/transmitting the information to a program provider(110) for the EC, and an application(102) for operating the electronic wallet, and performs bidirectional communication with the program provider. The program provider includes a digital broadcasting/Internet supporting server(111) for receiving the information transmitted from the electronic wallet, and an electronic settlement gateway client toolkit(112) for communicating the information with an electronic settlement gateway(120). The electronic settlement gateway requests a transaction approval to a VAN(Value Added Network)(130) company and transmits a received approval result to the program provider. A financial institution(140) approves the card transaction requested from the VAN company and pays the settlement price to the VAN company.
