Gap fillers for the edge of railway platforms

The edge strip (10) which protrudes from the side of a railway platform (1) has a profiled section of plastic which has a support section lying on the top surface of the structure of the platform in the edge region, and a reversibly deformable, gap covering section projecting out sideways from the platform and which in the installed position projects downwards with regard to the support section. The downwards projecting part of the gap covering section has a contact face which bears against a vertical side wall of the platform.
