Control device (1) for a hydraulic engine (2) having an adjustable absorption volume comprises an adjusting device (7) for adjusting the absorption volume provided with at least one first pressure chamber (11, 11'). The adjusting pressure acting in the first pressure chamber is changed by an adjusting pressure control device (6) which connects the first pressure chamber to a tank volume (17) or a pressurized medium feed line (18). The pressurized medium feed line is connected to a pressurized medium flushing device (13) of the hydraulic engine. Preferred Features: The pressurized medium flushing device has at least one throttle (15) for restricting pressurized medium flushing flow via a pressure-regulating valve (16) into the tank volume.
