PRODUCTION OF FEED ADDITIVE FOR HENS

PURPOSE: A method of making feed additive for raising poultry such as hens by mixing an earthworm extract, worm castings and Beauveria bassiana is provided. Breeding of poultry with feed containing the feed additive increases egg-laying life of hens, reduces the rate of broken eggs in hens and enhances disease resistance in hens. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 10%(v/w) of Beauveria bassiana and 10%(v/w) of worm castings is added with an earthworm extract having a moisture content of about 30% and made into a pill with a size of about 5mm, which is dried with hot air. The earthworm extract is prepared by washing earthworms with an aqueous alcohol solution, grinding with a blender and then centrifuging for 30min at 5,000rpm. The obtained feed additive is added to feed for raising poultry in an amount of 5 to 10%(w/w) and then fed to poultry.
