PURPOSE: A preheating device of a rotary kiln is provided to improve the efficiency of calcination, since the optimum preheating condition can be maintained by adjusting the amount of limestone to be preheated. CONSTITUTION: The preheating device of a rotary kiln for preheating a raw material before charging it from a first storage hopper(101) to the rotary kiln(230) comprises: a charging pipe(234) that is formed at the front end of the rotary kiln; a cylindrical body(10) that is formed at the upper part of the charging pipe, wherein a gas exhausting port(12a) equipped with a temperature sensor(14) is formed on the conical part(12) of the upper part of the body; a supporting plate(30) which is fixed to the lower part of the first storage hopper, wherein an opening(30a) is formed in the middle of the supporting plate, and a cylinder(34) is vertically fixed to the lower part of the supporting plate; and a cylindrical blocking member(50) which is inserted into the conical part of the body and connected to the cylinder(34) in the manner of being capable of vertical movement.
