The zoom system uses 4 symmetrical lens groups (2-5), with each 2 lens groups (2,5; 3,4) being identical and arranged in mirror symmetry to one another, with the geometric and optical specifications for the individual lenses specified by a table of values for the radius of each lens surface, the lens thickness or air distance, the lens material, the refractive index and the Abbe number. An Independent claim for an operation microscope provided with a zoom system is also included.
