PURPOSE: A method for preparing a fluorine-based sterilizing resin and a filter element for sterilization are provided, to obtain a useful sterilizing material which does not emit unpleasant odor and color different from iodine-based sterilizing materials. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing a fluorine compound and a strong basic anion exchange resin (CI-type) with water or an alcohol solvent to prepare a fluorine-based sterilizing resin. The filter element comprises the fluorine-based sterilizing resin.
