<p>The invention relates to a method of obtaining an absorbent product from recycled solid waste matter consisting of paper, textiles and plant residues, said product being intended to gather up substances which are less dense than water. According to the invention, the pulp is obtained by treating the aforementioned residues according to type and under specific conditions such that the product thus obtained can be used to: (i) gather up liquid substances with densities less than that of water, such as petroleum, the derivatives thereof and/or vegetable oils; and (ii) recover said substances cleanly and safely. The inventive absorbent is particularly suitable for gathering up spilled crude oil or the derivatives thereof, thereby reducing the general environmental impact of same.</p> |
