PURPOSE: A welding rod is provided to automatically move down a welding rod when performing welding work by operating a welding switch while setting the welding rod in an automatic welding gun. CONSTITUTION: A welding rod includes an external case(20) and a handle(30). The external case(20) is provided with a welding rod(10). A user attaches an earth line to a welding object and provides the welding rod(10) on the external case(20). Then, the user operates a welding switch(32) in order to perform welding work. The welding rod(10) has a welding metal having a rectangular column shape. A coating member is coated on the welding metal. A high-voltage line is formed on a predetermined portion of the welding metal at which the coating member is not formed.
