PURPOSE: A compensation film for an LCD and a display are provided to consist of two layers having different tilt angles and different retardation values within a defined limit, thereby supplying a considerably high contrast with a wider viewing angle. CONSTITUTION: An optical axis of the first optical anisotropic layer has an average title angle in between 25 and 70 degrees on the first plane, while an optical axis of the second optical anisotropic layer has an average title angle in between 0 and 40 degrees on the second plane. The average tilt angles of the first and second optical anisotropic layers are different from each other. The first and second planes are vertical to a plane of an optical compensation film(500). A retardation defined by (ne1-no1)d1 of the first optical anisotropic layer is between 50nm and 160nm, while a retardation defined by (ne2-no2)d2 of the second optical anisotropic layer is between 0nm and 80nm, wherein ne1 and no1 are extraordinary and ordinary indices of refraction of a positively birefringent material of the first optical anisotropic layer, and ne2 and no2 are extraordinary and ordinary indices of refraction of a positively birefringent material of the second optical anisotropic layer, then d1 and d2 refer to thickness of the first and second optical anisotropic layers, respectively.
