ILLUMINATION UNIT

The illumination unit has an electric lamp (1) with a lamp vessel region adjacent to a glass base (11) e.g. G9 base, and an envelope which is fixed to the lamp. The envelope partially surrounds the lamp vessel and has an aperture for the lamp. A fastening unit e.g. clip, fastens the envelope to the vessel. The vessel is located between foil seals and an incandescent filament (9) and the glass base protrudes from the envelope.
