PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing a high-degree vacuum of a scroll compressor and a method for assembling the same are provided to reduce the production cost by easily processing a fixed scroll, and improve the reliability of a compressor by regularly maintaining strength of the fixed scroll. CONSTITUTION: A fixed scroll(10) is fixed inside a casing(1), having a discharge hole(11a) communicating with a final compressing chamber(P3) and an intermediate pressure passage(11b) communicating with an intermediate compressing chamber(P2). A rotary scroll(5) is engaged with the fixed scroll, and rotates having an initial compressing chamber(P1), the intermediate compressing chamber, and the final intermediate compressing chamber formed continuously. A discharge cover(20) is installed at the fixed scroll, forming a hermetic discharge pressure area(S2) by containing the discharge hole of the fixed scroll, a vacuum cylinder(21) formed in certain height from a lower end contacting with the fixed scroll to communicate with a discharge pressure passage(21c), and a suction pressure passage(21b) making the vacuum cylinder communicate with a suction pressure area(S1). A vacuum piston(22) is slidably inserted into the vacuum cylinder. A vacuum spring(23) is interposed between the suction pressure passage and one side of the vacuum piston. If a compressor is normally operated, the vacuum piston is pushed by a pressure of the intermediate compressing chamber for cutting off the discharge pressure passage. If the compressor is operated in a high-degree vacuum, the vacuum piston is pressed overcoming the pressure of the intermediate compressing chamber to make the discharge pressure passage communicate with the suction pressure passage.
