HYDRAULIC CONTROL-TYPE LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL AND METHOD FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: A hydraulic control-type limited slip differential and method for the same are provided to secure an excellent differential limit function by driving a hydraulic pump with rotary power of a drive shaft and generating torque bias ratio for liming operations of the differential. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic control-type limited slip differential is composed of a pair of pinion gears(54) rotatively combined to a pinion shaft(56) vertically installed to a differential case(52); a pair of side gears(60) engaged with the pinion gears with crossing the pinion gears and spline-combined to the drive shaft; a multi-disc clutch(66) positioned between the side gear and the differential case and arranged to mutually overlap a friction plate(62) of the differential case and a friction disc(64) of the side gear with performing clutch operations; a pair of hydraulic pumps installed to the drive shaft and driven by rotary power of the drive shaft; an actuator(70) interposed between the side gears to push outward the side gears by hydraulic pressure generated from the hydraulic pump; and a hydraulic control unit(72) connected between the actuator and the hydraulic pump to control the driving of the actuator to difference of the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic pump.
