PURPOSE: A power supply system and a controlling method thereof are provided to protect a system by checking a process for distributing the current to phase process units. CONSTITUTION: A power supply system includes a power supply unit, a DC/DC converter, and a control unit. The power supply unit(10) supplies DC power. The DC/DC converter(24) includes a plurality of phase process units for dividing the DC power of the power supply unit into plural phase currents in order to supply individual power sources having different voltages to each element. The control unit senses phase currents of the phase process units of the DC/DC converter. In addition, the control unit interrupts the power when a voltage of the phase current is higher than a reference voltage.
